Class Description

The fundamentals of jazz dance are found in many other styles including musical theater dance, making this workshop necessary for any aspiring dancer or actor. Jazz dance often utilizes modern music and features syncopated movements, energetic choreography, and complex patterns. In addition, most musicals feature a dance ensemble that is tasked with telling part of the story through dance.

NOTE: Should current conditions change due to Covid, Workshop will pivot to online.


NO REFUNDS OF ANY KIND OR CHANGES 2 weeks before the first day camp/class begins. Prior to 2 weeks a $25.00 cancellation fee per class is applied to refunds. Conrad Useldinger

Conrad is a theatremaker and dance instructor from here in Santa Cruz. In 2019, he received his MA in Theatre Practices from Artez Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (NL), where he was a recipient of the Artez Scholarship. Before this, he received his BFA in Dance from Belhaven University (USA). Conrad has worked with CYT Santa Cruz previously as the choreographer of Shrek Jr. (2015), Elf Jr. (2016) and Peter Pan (2017). He looks forward to rejoining the community this fall to teach the kids how to imbue their performances with presence and dynamics.
