Summer Camp

CYT Summer Camp is fun for all of our students! We create a hands-on theater experience, and are focused on building performance skills, self-confidence, and teamwork. Our camps include rotations through drama, dance, and music, and an impressive concluding Showcase Performance for a live audience at our outdoor stage. There’s no better place for kids to learn about theater, have fun and develop character than in CYT’s positive and encouraging atmosphere.
Summer 2022 will hold two different camps. The first one, June 27 - July 1, will be a week long camp for kids age 4 - 18, and will take place in Aptos. The second camp is an intensive theater camp which runs for 3 weeks, and culminates in a weekend of Broadway style performances of Bye Bye Birdie. This camp will rehearse in Scotts Valley from July 5 - 9 and July 11 - 15, then move to Monte Vista Christian School for tech week July 18 - 22, and performances July 22 - 24.  
 

Scholarship Information

Scholarships are available to those who demonstrate financial need. The scholarship foundation wants to help families who have lost income due to the coronavirus. Please do not let financial circumstances prevent you from registering for Family Camp! If your income exceeds the limits please write a note about how the pandemic has financially affected your family.

Health and Safety


CYT Santa Cruz is implementing the following policies in order to provide the most safe and healthy camp experience possible. 

When we are in person, not remote, we follow the guidelines below:

Small groups of students stay together all day, each day. Students remain at least 6 feet apart and do not share objects. Outdoor activities are prioritized. Temperatures are checked and a health check-list is asked to each student and staff member. Our campus nurse is on hand to assist with any child not feeling well, and has the facilities to keep sick people away from others. 

 

Camp Staff

Camp Staff includes professional local artists, CYT Production Artistic Teams, and Theater specialists. Our Camp Staff is high energy, experienced, and love working with kids! CYT aims to hire educational professionals who are great role models for our students. All CYT Staff have been background checked and adhere to our CYT Mission and Values.

We look for Lead Camp counselors for our Summer Camps (15 and up) and Jr. counselors (13-15)!  We welcome you to apply by filling out the google form.
