Description

This advanced-level acting course is designed for experienced actors seeking to deepen their craft through the study and practice of realistic performance. Rooted in techniques drawn from Stanislavski, Meisner, Uta Hagen, and other masters of realism, the class emphasizes truthful behavior, emotional authenticity, and psychological depth. We will focus on application based learning with minimal instruction time.
Students will engage in intensive scene work, character analysis, and moment-to-moment improvisation. Emphasis will be placed on active listening, inner monologue, subtext, and achieving spontaneity within structured performance. Through exploration of contemporary or classic texts, actors will refine their ability to live truthfully under imaginary circumstances and create fully realized, human characters.
By the end of the course, students will possess a stronger command of realistic technique, sharpened instincts, and greater confidence in their ability to bring emotional honesty to any role.
