Step into the lively world of Commedia dell’Arte, where bold characters, physical comedy, quick wit, and theatrical play take center stage! Designed for teens with previous acting and performance experience, this class explores the foundations of this classic Italian theater tradition through movement, ensemble work, and character exploration. Bring your creativity, your sense of adventure, and a willingness to play. Commedia rewards actors who are willing to be brave. Expect to explore unfamiliar ways of moving, creating, and performing while engaging with the history and techniques of this influential Italian art form. Curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to look a little ridiculous in pursuit of great theater are essential.
Prerequisite: Previous acting and performance experience.

Each of our shows has a limited number of spaces and age caps to ensure the best possible experience for our students. If the show is already full, you will be placed onto a waiting list when signing up for your audition slot.  See Audition Questions for more info.

Scholarship: Don't let financial circumstances prevent you from registering for our classes. Please reach out to tamara@cytsantacruz.org if you have a financial need. We want you at CYT!

Refunds:  We know that plans change so you can request a cancellation of your class registration fee up until Friday, August 28th and you will be refunded the registration cost, minus a $30 administration fee.  No refunds will be issued once the show cast list is released.  
All refunds are returned to the original form of payment. 
Class changes are subject to availability until August 28.
