Hello, listeners, wherever you may be! Step back in time to the Golden Age of Radio, when stories came alive with nothing but voices, sound effects, and, my favorite thing of all, imagination. Students will work together to rewrite a familiar story, rehearse their characters, and record their performance for a special end-of-session showcase. Along the way, we will discover ways of creating convincing sound effects, experiment with character voices and beginner accents, and learn how to make magic without ever stepping on a stage. 
But wait, there's more! We'll also dive into the history of radio dramas and uncover how these classic storytelling techniques continue to inspire today's animated films, audiobooks, podcasts, and voice-over artists.
So whether your child dreams of becoming a storyteller, loves making silly voices around the dinner table, or simply enjoys exploring new art forms, they'll have a blast in this fun and supportive class. Come build confidence, collaborate with friends, and discover a new performance skill as we explore the timeless magic of theater for the ears!

Each of our shows has a limited number of spaces and age caps to ensure the best possible experience for our students. If the show is already full, you will be placed onto a waiting list when signing up for your audition slot.  See Audition Questions for more info.

Scholarship: Don't let financial circumstances prevent you from registering for our classes. Please reach out to tamara@cytsantacruz.org if you have a financial need. We want you at CYT!

Refunds:  We know that plans change so you can request a cancellation of your class registration fee up until Friday, August 28th and you will be refunded the registration cost, minus a $30 administration fee.  No refunds will be issued once the show cast list is released.  
All refunds are returned to the original form of payment. 
Class changes are subject to availability until August 28.
